Abstrakt: Příspěvek je výsledkem výzkumu historického pozadí vývoje programu Začít spolu, který je odnoží programu Step by Step. Rešerše literatury na významných databázích ukázala, že program je v odborné komunitě málo znám. Proto odborníkům unikají významné souvislosti, které vysvětlují, proč je program Začít spolu (stejně jako Step by Step) úspěšný, proč je schopen se uplatnit ve školách hlavního vzdělávacího proudu, přičemž dokáže tento proud významně rekonstituovat. Od svého počátku byl program svázán s Bronfenbrennerovou teorií ekologických systémů, a proto konvenuje s nejnovějšími poznatky neurověd a kognitivních věd o vztahu mezi sociálním prostředím a vývojem mozku.

Title: THE “START TOGETHER” PROGRAMME IN HISTORICAL CONTEXT
Abstract: The paper is the result of research into the historical background of the development of the Start Together program, an offshoot of the Step by Step program. A literature search in major databases showed that the program is little known in the professional community. Therefore, experts are missing principal contexts that explain why the Start Together (as well as Step by Step) is a successful program, and why it is possible to apply it to mainstream schools and at the same time significantly reconstitute mainstream approaches. Since its inception, the program has been tied to Bronfenbrenner’s ecological systems theory and, therefore, is compatible with the latest findings from neuroscience and cognitive science about the relationship between the social environment and brain development.
