Title: „PURE LANGUAGE“ AS A RESEARCH TOOL FOR DETECTING THE SECRET KNOWLEDGE OF STUDENTS TEACHING

Abstract: Research is carried out under the grant project GAČR (13-20049S). His aim is to verify the use of the so-called pure language to detect the tacit (hidden) teaching knowledge acquired by teachers during their teaching practice at primary school. The individual practical experience of students is a source of cryptic knowledge. It is assumed that a clean language, implemented by means of an interview (follow-up to observation) will allow the meaning of words used by the student in the answers. Research is based on two theoretical sources. One is the evolving theory of tactical knowledge (Arrow & Svec, 2013), which understands knowledge as a dynamic structure shaped in the field of the student (his mind and body) – an environment in which interaction with pupils takes place. The second source is pure language theory developed by David Grove (Grove & Panzer, 1989). This is a specific way of conducting an interview, when the subject digs into processes in his mind and body (Nehyba & Lanc, 2013). Research is based on the assumption: secret knowledge is created especially when a student acts in unexpected situations. He seeks the answer to the question: what is happening in the mind and body of the student who deals with unexpected situations in the class? In an interview, a student very often speaks in metaphors. The so-called „embodied metaphors“ (Lawley & Tompkins, 2000) are significant in research, with which the student symbolically examines his experience in solving an unexpected situation (e.g. „I felt like in a fire“). The development of a methodological approach will be presented, using the principles of pure language as a tool to detect the secret knowledge of students in teaching. The way this tool is implemented will be illustrated on the data from pilot interviews conducted in summer. a semester of the academic year 2013 / 2014. A possible analytical procedure for processing these data will also be outlined.
