Abstrakt: R. Caillois kritizuje studium her z hlediska zájmu o jejich výchovný efekt zato, že vede k pochybené ldasifikaci her, k necitlivosti vůči tomu, co je jejich motivem. Za příznačné pro tento přístup označuje ldasifikace her dle druhů obratnosti. (s.178 n)Sám pak hry obratnosti, individuální či skupinové, prohlašuje jen za předstupněsoutěže – jde o nevídané kousky, gradaci obtížnosti, dosažení rekordů, které jsou jenimplicitní soutěživostí. (s. 59) Ve svém příspěvku referuji o poměru her obratnosti a soutěží v naší sbírce her školních dětí. Liší se hry obratnosti od soutěží? A pokud ano,v čem?

Title: Are the games of skill only implicit competitions?
Abstract: R. Caillois is criticizing the study of games stemming from the interest intheir educational value for obscuring their classification, for insensitivity to theirmotives. Classifications of games according to types of skills are held as symptomaticfor this approach. Caillois, himself, proclaims the games of skills, individua} or group,as mere lead-up to agón – what matters are master strokes, gradation of difficulty, record-breaking – i.e. implicit competition. In my paper, I report on the relation of competitions and games of skills in our collection of schoolchildren’s games. Are thegam es of skill different from competitions? And if yes is the answer, in what respect?
