Abstrakt: Příspěvek se zaměřuje na problematiku edukace seniorů na pozadí demografického stárnutí s důrazem na měnící se požadavky dnešní doby. Cílem je prezentovat pilotní část specifického výzkumu na téma „Digitální gramotnost seniorů v kontextu institucionální edukace univerzit třetího věku“. Zvolená metoda ohniskové skupiny prezentuje volbu kvalitativního výzkumného designu za účelem získání širší perspektivy a identifikování klíčových aspektů, které jsou podrobeny hlubší analýze v navazující kvantitativní části výzkumu. Reflexe provedeného skupinového interview přispívá k validitě výzkumného nástroje dotazníku. Představený záměr zdůrazňuje vhodné využití a přínos kombinace obou výzkumných strategií.

Title: USING A FOCUS GROUP TO RESEARCH THE DIGITAL LITERACY OF SENIORS
Abstract: The paper focuses on the issue of education of the elderly against the background of demographic ageing with an emphasis on the changing demands of present times. The aim is to present a pilot part of a specific research on the topic “Digital literacy of seniors in the context of institutional education of universities of the third age”. The chosen focus group method presents the choice of a qualitative research design in order to gain a broader perspective and identify key aspects that are subjected to a deeper analysis in the follow- up quantitative part of the research. The reflection of the group interview conducted contributes to the validity of the research instrument of the questionnaire. The presented design highlights the appropriate use and benefits of combining both research strategies.
