Abstrakt: Cílem příspěvku je představit metodologii a vybrané výsledky výzkumu zaměřeného na výuku AJ jako cizího jazyka. Cílem výzkumu je posoudit vliv intervence realizované v prostředí LMS IS MU a aplikace Peer-review na rozvoj diskurzivní kompetence (konkrétně vybraných aspektů koherence) v cizojazyčném akademickém psaní v AJ u studentů Masarykovy univerzity. Dílčím cílem výzkumu je posoudit kvalitu poskytnuté elektronické vrstevnické zpětné vazby (peer-review) hodnotící vybrané aspekty koherence. Vzhledem k oborově-didaktickému zaměření výzkumu jsou teoretická východiska syntézou poznatků několika vědních disciplín. V oblasti didaktiky cizího jazyka se jedná zejména o model komunikační kompetence dle Celce Murciaové (2007) a procesuální přístup k výuce psaní, v rovině psychologické o konstruktivistickou teorii učení (zejména sociální konstruktivismus) a v rovině lingvistické o model lexikální koheze Tanskanenové (2006) a kategorizaci konjunkce Martina a Rose (2003). Výzkum je realizován jako kvaziexperiment (pretest posttest design s jednou skupinou). Vedle autoritativních nástrojů sběru dat jsou použity i nástroje sběru dat vlastní konstrukce (nástroj pro posouzení úrovně vybraných aspektů koherence, resp. pro poskytování elektronické zpětné vazby). Analýza dat bude spočívat v porovnání výsledků pre/post testů a v porovnání pos~nutého teacher-review a peer-review. K analýze dat bude využito postupů popisné a inferenční statistiky. V období únorčerven 2014 je realizován předvýzkum, jehož cílem je pilotáž pretestu a posttestu, pilotáž intervence, sběr dat a ověření vhodnosti zvolených/navržených výzkumných nástrojů. Příspěvek je zaměřen na představení designu výzkumu, sběru dat a technik analýzy dat. Dále budou představeny vybrané výsledky předvýzkumu, konkrétně z oblasti měření rozvoje lexikální koheze, gramatické koheze (konjunkce) a úrovně výstavby textu.

Title: MEASUREMENT OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF DISCRETIONARY COMPETENCE IN FOREIGN LANGUAGE ACADEMIC WRITING IN ENGLISH: METHODOLOGY AND SELECTED PRE-RESEARCH RESULTS
Abstract: The aim of the contribution is to present the methodology and selected results of research aimed at teaching AJ as a foreign language. The aim of the research is to assess the impact of the intervention carried out in the LMS IS MU environment and the Peer-review application on the development of discretionary competence (specifically selected aspects of coherence) in foreign language academic writing at the AJ at the Masaryk University. The research objective is to assess the quality of electronic peer feedback (peer review) evaluating selected aspects of coherence. Because of the field-didactic focus of research, theoretical bases are a synthesis of knowledge of several scientific disciplines. In the field of didactics of a foreign language it is mainly a model of communication competence according to Celce Murcia (2007) and a procedural approach to writing teaching, in the level of psychological about the constructive theory of learning (especially social constructivism) and in the level of linguistics of the lexical cohesa Tanskanen (2006) and categorisation of the conjunctions Martin and Rose (2003). Research is carried out as a quasi-experiment (pretest posttest design with one group). In addition to the authoritarian data collection tools, the data collection tools of its own design (tool for assessing the level of selected aspects of coherence or electronic feedback) are also used. Data analysis will consist of a comparison of pre / post test results and a comparison of a forced teacher-review and peer-review. Descriptive and incident statistics procedures will be used to analyse data. Pre-research is carried out during the period of February 2014, aiming at piloting the pretest and post-test, piloting intervention, collecting data and verifying the suitability of selected / proposed research tools. The contribution is aimed at presenting research design, data collection and data analysis techniques. In addition, selected pre-research results will be presented, namely from the field of measurement of the development of lexical cohesia, grammatical cohesis (conjunctions) and the level of text construction.
