Abstrakt: Příspěvek prezentuje návrh systému GIS dovedností (obdobně jako již existují kartografické dovednosti), které dosud nebyly pro české školní kurikulum stanoveny, ačkoliv GIS je v současné době nejsilnějším nástrojem pro vizualizaci a prezentaci prostorových dat. Na příkladu dat sesbíraných žáky základních škol Jihomoravského kraje je pak doloženo, že práce s GIS nemusí být složitým nástrojem, kterého by se měli učitelé obávat, ale naopak by měli využít veškeré jeho možnosti pro inovaci výuky zeměpisu/geografie jako moderního vyučovacího předmětu.

Title: Integration of GIS into teaching at elementary schools –theory and practice
Abstract: The implementation of GIS into the school curriculum is essential for modern geography as GIS is a powerful tool for presentation and visualization of spatial data. The aim of the paper is to present a proposal of the GIS skills system (similar to the existing cartographic skills) and prove on the example of data collected by pupils from elementary schools in the South Moravian Region that working with GIS does not have to be a complicated process that teachers should be afraid of. However, to enhance the use of GIS in schools, it is necessary to modify FEPs fundamentally, but it is also appropriate to offer teachers background materials for themselves and their pupils, including examples of good practice trying to present this paper.
