Štech a Viktorová (in Štech, 2004) rozlišují tři přístupy rodičů ke spolupráci s učiteli: alternativní (rezignace na požadavky učitele), komplementární (rodiče doplňují a upevňují působení učitele) a nahrazující (kritika učitele, hledání kompenzace nedostatků školní výuky). Šetření má charakter kvalitativního výzkumu, přičemž využívá data z hloubkových polostrukturovaných rozhovorů s 10 matkami a 2 učitelkami dětí 1. tříd dvou různých běžných ZŠ.

Klíčová slova: spolupráce rodiny a školy, čtenářská gramotnost, očekávání rodičů, očekávání učitelů

Title: VISUAL EVIDENCE OF THE FAMILY AND THE TEACHER OF THE CHILDREN 1.

Abstract: The aim of the contribution is to present sub-data from research on how children’s mothers of the 1st grade help children develop initial reading literacy, namely data on the mutual expectations of mothers and teachers regarding cooperation on the development of initial reading literacy. The lessons learned can help to improve cooperation between family and school in the area. The teaching of reading literacy by children of the 1st class, apart from them, lies on both the shoulders of the school and the shoulders of the family. Štech and Viktor (in Štech, 2004) distinguish between three approaches of parents to cooperation with teachers: alternative (resignation of teachers‘ requirements), complementary (parents complement and consolidate teacher’s activities) and substitute (teacher’s criticism, seeking compensation for school teaching shortcomings). Grey (2009) concludes that the middle-class parents are trying to meet the school’s demands as best as possible, while the working-class parents (Catrnák, 2004) leave their children’s school fates to themselves. As far as teachers are concerned, Epstein (1986) states that, if family and school relationships are perceived as a priority, parents with lower SES often feel obliged to become more involved in school training. However, according to Link et al. (1997) teachers tend to restrict and limit dialogue with parents. Gettinger and Guetshow (1998) claim that they perceive more barriers and fewer opportunities to participate than parents themselves. The sub-research investigation seeks to answer the question: How do they view mutual cooperation in the development of the initial literacy of a mother and a teacher of first class children? The investigation has the character of qualitative research, using data from in-depth semi-structured interviews with 10 mothers and 2 teachers of children of the 1st class of two different common schools. Interviews were obtained at the end of the 2nd semester of the 20152016 school year. The part of home preparation for reading, given to children in the 2nd semester, is presented in the form of recommendations rather than as a mandatory homework task. Mothers perceive this mandatory-voluntary setting with its advantages and disadvantages. On the one hand, they sometimes wish for more mandatory homework until reading, on the other hand, they admit that despite their initial efforts to read daily with the child, they are unable to implement this recommendation in the second half of the year. However, teachers agree that the main task of the school in the development of literacy is to teach reading techniques, while the family should promote a positive relationship between children and books.
