Abstrakt: Hlavním cílem příspěvku je představit možnosti, jak lze využít koncept scaffoldingu, označující specifický typ podpory učení žáků, ve výzkumu a evaluaci tištěných i digitálních výukových materiálů. Změny v oblasti užívání výukových materiálů a masivní vstup digitálních materiálů na scénu ještě více zdůraznily potřebu zkoumat a posuzovat kvalitu těchto edukačních médií.
Klíčová slova: scaffolding, scaffoldingové strategie, výukové materiály, kvalita výukových materiálů
Title: How teaching and learning materials can support students ’ learning: Use of the ‘scaffolding’concept for research and evaluation
Abstract: The main aim of the keynote presentation is to point out the possibilities of the use of the ‘scaffolding’ concept in the research and evaluation of teaching and learning materials, both printed and digital. Recent changes in the use of teaching and learning materials lead to the demand – even more important, presently – to examine and evaluate the quality of the educational media. Specifically, the presentation aims to (1) identify the key changes in the use of teaching and learning materials, currently, (2) discuss the challenges related to the theoretical anchoring of the ‘scaffolding’ concept and its application in the research on teaching and learning materials, (3) outline the framework for analysis of scaffolding strategies in materials, and (4) sum up the benefits and challenges of the application of scaffolding in the research on teaching and learning materials. In the end, possible solutions of the problems are suggested, like focus on the research on school culture and practices of using the materials (e.g. Bruillard, 2011), the application of the sociocultural theory of activity (e.g. Daniels, Edwards, Engeström et al, 2010) and the development of the documentation theory and documentation approach to didactics (Pepin, Gueudet & Trouche, 2017).
Keywords: scaffolding, scaffolding strategies, teaching and learning materials, quality of teaching and learning resources
