Title: School board supported by challenges
Abstract: The aim of the conference paper is to present case study in the field of school boards as a basis for the dissertation research project. School boards are seen in the context of democracy in school. The research focuses on the experience of members of school boards. Democratic education theory of Gutman (1987) is based on the educational authority sharing between state, family and individual. The concepts of participation enable to chapter parental participation, as Stelmach (2016) grounded research of school boards in the theoretical model of Arstein (1969) describing the level and quality of public participation. The research is a case study of school board of elementary school. The approach is a collection of data by the author in a real school environment using ethnographic design and field notes. The results will be presented from 3 perspectives (dialog, democratic leadership and participation).
