Abstrakt: Záměrem předkládaného příspěvku je přispět do diskuse o funkci metodických kabinetů jakožto součásti středního managementu škol. Podkladem nám budou výsledky reprezentativního šetření zkoumající aktivity metodických orgánů základních a středních škol. Jeho cílem bylo popsat hlavní činnosti předmětových komisí českého jazyka, matematiky a informatiky na ZŠ a SŠ, a taktéž organizační formy a ukotvení zmíněných orgánů ve školách.

Title: Activities of methodological bodies at primary and secondary schools on examples of Mathematics, Informatics and Czech language
Abstract: The main aim of the paper is to open a discussion about the function of methodological bodies at primary and secondary schools on examples of Mathematics, Informatics and Czech language. The paper will be based on the results of the quantitative survey examining activities of methodological bodies at primary and secondary schools as well as the educational needs of the member of those bodies. We are building on the international theories saying that methodological bodies are crucial part of the school middle management (Gold, 2005; Bennett, 1999). They are in charge not only of cooperation and communication among the members of the bodies, but also of serious schools decisions making. The results provide an overview of the way in which school methodological bodies perform the function of middle management and how they interfere with planning, creation and implementation of the curriculum, or evaluation of professional development of teachers in the field of didactics.
