Abstrakt: Cílem příspěvku je prezentovat klíčové momenty v Deweyho filosofickopedagogickém díle věnovaném problematice reformy myšlení v souvislosti s proměnou sociální struktury a s novými ideály demokracie. Deweyho koncepty myšlení, problematizace, logiky, demokratické výchovy a kurikula pak srovnat se soudobou situací v teorii výchovy demokratického občana, jak je nastíněna v RVP.

Title: Democracy and Education between John Dewey and cross-cutting theme
Abstract: The aim is to reflect some crucial topics in J. Dewey’s philosophical and pedagogical works concerning the relation between social changes leading us to democracy and educational reform of logical thinking. Dewey’s concepts of thinking, problematisation, logic, education to democracy and curriculum will be compared to todays‘ concept of Education to democratic Citizenship in Czech Curricular documents.
