Title: Development of Early readers reading literacy
Abstract: The aim of this research is to examine nine early readers during one school year. Early readers are children who have learned to read with comprehension before they entered any formal system of literacy teaching. This research examines the development of their reading literacy as well as the development of their reading motivation, through research tools of interview and observation. It seems that the development of individual children varies, some have managed to keep the motivation to read and to develop and improve their initial knowledge, but others have slowed the lead that they initially had have, and sometimes the motivation to read diminished, even though it had been one of their favourite activities.
