K nedostatku učitelů a ke stárnutí učitelské populace přispívají i nežádoucí odchody kvalifikovaných učitelů z profese.

Abstract: The aim of the contribution is to present the results of both quantitative and qualitative stages of research into contextual factors that may be predictors of dropout starting teachers. Based on the research results, we will formulate recommendations to reduce the unwanted departure of starting teachers for schools, education policy and pre-graduate teacher education. The undesirable leaving of qualified teachers from the profession also contributes to the lack of teachers and to the ageing of the teaching population. These have a negative impact on the level of the education system (quality of education, economic losses), school level (cooperation within the school) and school level (quality of teaching). Teachers in their first years are the most vulnerable group in terms of leaving the profession (Ingersoll, 2003, Johnson & al, 2014, Written & Hanušová, 2016). It is therefore necessary to examine the factors which determine the processes of professional socialisation of initial teachers. Although we respect the importance of subjective determinants, we focus in particular on objective determinants. We focus on three levels of social context: interactive (pupils and class), institutional (school culture, colleagues and school management) and cultural (local community as well as wider economic, political and cultural context). (Written, 2013, Helms-Lorenz & al, 2016). The questionnaire investigation took place in two stages in the years 20152017 on a representative sample of 389 starting teachers from 6 regions of the Czech Republic. The questionnaire contained 70 Likert scales and focused on the external factors of the socialization of emerging teachers and their well-being. Data has been analysed by statistical methods including factor analysis and regression models. The subsequent qualitative phase is currently under way and is carried out through semi-structured interviews with 20 teachers, which complement and deepen the findings of the questionnaire investigation. The contribution brings the results of research on external factors affecting the building of the relationship of initial teachers to school and education, and in particular their intention to remain in school / education or leave. It focuses in particular on those factors that contribute to the decision of starting teachers to remain in school or education. On the basis of the results of research, which included both quantitative and qualitative phases, recommendations are formulated for schools, education policy, pre-graduate teacher education and for teachers themselves.
