Sekce 7Podpora učení žáků a studentů: teorie a praxe

Title: Simulation as a teaching method from the perspective of medical students
Abstract: The contribution introduces research which aims to explore and describe how medical students perceive simulation as a learning method. Simulation-Based Medical Education is based on Experiential Learning Theory (ELT) created by David Kolb. Simulations per se are considered its hands-on modalities. Phenomenography was chosen as qualitative research design, focusing on ways in which students perceive their own learning experience and create knowledge. Data will be collected via semi-structured interviews with Medical students and students of Dentistry at the Faculty of Medicine, Masaryk University, who have completed simulation courses in first aid. The results should contribute towards a better understanding of the ways in which simulations enter the learning process of a specific group of students, followed by the design of more efficient simulation teaching methods.
