Title: Contemporary Foreign Perspectives on Student Indiscipline
Abstract: Indiscipline can be understood in four ways. The review paper is based on an analysis of 121 foreign works from the period 1986-2018. Attention is paid on the work examining the manifestations of indiscipline in the classroom at the level of primary and secondary schools. Conclusions: 1. Terminology is unstable, there is no clear definition. 2. Factors affecting indiscipline: peculiarities of the student, his / her classmates, his / her teacher, school classes, interaction between teacher and students; peculiarities of the school, family background of the student. 3. Indiscipline of students has a negative impact on teachers, students and their learning, on the course and outcomes of teaching, on the climate of the class and school. 4. There are three solutions to indiscipline: the oldest builds on the teacher (punishment and reward); the other builds on the student and his self-regulation; the third builds on a group of students, school class, on group pressure.
