Sekce 5: Cíle a obsah výchovy a vzdělávání

V této studii jsou analyzovány učebnicové texty prostřednictvím obsahové analýzy, kritické analýzy diskurzu (Fairclough, 1995) a metody otevřených a uzavřených textů (Eco, 1979; Luke, 1989).

Title: KNOWNUNKNOWN IDENTITIES IN FOREIGN LANGUAGE TEXTBOOKS
Abstract: The author presents the concept of identity applied in the field of foreign language teaching and in examples of identity research in English language textbooks illustrates some ideological content of textbooks as part of the hidden curriculum of foreign language teaching. Identity in the teaching of a foreign language comes at the forefront of interest in the theoretical framework of critical pedagogy, applied linguistics and critical discourse analysis, where learning a foreign language is not only seen as a process of learning the grammar and lexics of the target language, but as a process of full ideological content leading to the reconstruction of the student’s identity. In this study, textbook texts are analysed through content analysis, critical discourse analysis (Faircloud, 1995) and open and closed text methods (Eco, 1979; Luke, 1989). The results of the analysis show that the textbooks depicted the identity of the so-called ideal language spokesperson usually live a satisfied consumer way of life, do not cross the boundaries of a comfortable social zone or even their „possible worlds, “ i.e. ambition and dreams do not go in an unexpected or unconventional direction. It can therefore be said that textbooks not only reproduce certain social patterns of behaviour and do not encourage social change, but also contribute to creating an „ideal consumer“ in their content.
