Title: Informal Conversations Among Secondary School Teachers
Abstract: There exist many national and foreign researches focused on undergraduate teachers’ training, in-service teachers’ education. However, it seems essential to support professional development both formally and informally, as teachers’ expertise, skills and competencies are not static (Opfer & Pedder, 2011). Unlike abroad (e.g. Thomson & Trigwell, 2018), there are no studies that would explain the role of informal conversations among vocational school teachers in the Czech educational setting. Based on the qualitative research, this paper will therefore focus on identifying the roles of informal conversations among Czech VET teachers and the relationship of these conversation to teaching and learning processes.
